Our last day in Italy was spent walking the beautiful streets of Verona.
Like many others we were attracted to Verona’s connection with a much beloved Shakespeare play. Other than wanting to see Juliet’s balcony I really didn’t have any other expectations or knowledge of what Verona had to offer. But this colourful city was quick to steal my heart.
We were lucky enough to be in Verona on the same day as a vintage fair that had an incredible selection of vintage goods. It broke my heart that travelling on a budget meant I couldn’t take anything home with me!
After a stroll along the Castelvecchio Bridge we headed to Juliet’s House. Entrance into Juliet’s House allows you to explore the various levels, learn a little about the times in which she lived and stand on the famous balcony. It was a very special experience standing on Juliet’s balcony.
We celebrated our last night in Italy with the most amazing meal at a little laneway restaurant. The mussel gnocchi was definitely the best Italian meal I ate in our three weeks in Italy!
Now, when can I come back to Italy??
